A chrome mirror finish requires simple yet precise maintenance to retain its luster over time. Here are the right steps to take—and the mistakes to absolutely avoid.
A soft, dry microfiber cloth is the only tool truly needed to maintain a chrome finish. Simply wipe the surface gently to remove fingerprints and dust, without leaving scratches.
If a deeper clean is needed, lightly dampen the microfiber cloth with lukewarm water—never directly on the earphone. Glasses or screen cleaner (alcohol and ammonia-free) can also be used sparingly, applied to the cloth and not directly to the product.
Absolutely avoid abrasive products, acetone, high-concentration alcohol, and any rough cloth or paper towel, which can irrevocably scratch the mirror finish. Never submerge the earphones in water, and avoid prolonged exposure to moisture (shower steam, excessive perspiration).
The silicone cable can be cleaned with the same slightly damp microfiber cloth. Avoid wrapping it too tightly around an object, which can eventually weaken the sheath—prefer a loose, wide coil for storage.
Between uses, store your earphones in a dry place, away from dust and friction with other metallic objects (keys, coins) that could scratch the finish. A small case or dedicated pouch remains the best daily protection.
With these few simple steps, the mirror finish of your NovaChrome wired chrome earphones will retain its original luster for years.
